Matt Bush

I was born in Americus, GA and raised in LaGrange, GA where my family made sure I was involved in a local church for as long as I can remember. I became a follower of Jesus Christ when I was 9 years old and I still love him to this day. I went to Georgia Tech (Go Jackets!) for my undergraduate degree and then to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary for my Master of Divinity. I moved to Jacksonville in 2002 and I met my wife Jessica that summer. We have served together at 3 different churches in Jacksonville before starting a nonprofit called All Things New and moving to Gressier, Haiti in 2014 where we ran a ministry and orphanage for almost 10 years, and we continue to run the ministry remotely. While we were in Haiti, all 3 of our kids were born: Sophie, Elijah, and Ezekyal. In January 2024, I became the Senior Pastor of Glendale Community Church, and I am excited to see all that GOD does during our time here.

Worship Leader

My journey in music and ministry began as a young boy singing in the church choir. What started as a childhood love for music grew into a lifelong passion for worship, serving others, and helping people experience the presence of God.

I have been blessed to serve in worship and leadership for more than 12 years, including ministry roles as Choir Director, Worship and Outreach Pastor, and Associate Pastor of Worship. Throughout those years, I have had the opportunity to work with wonderful musicians, vocalists, and volunteers from many different backgrounds and worship traditions. 

My wife, Vicky, and I have been married for over 24 years, and we have two sons, TJ and Danny. Family is an important part of my life, and I am grateful for the love, lessons, and experiences we have shared along the way.

I believe worship is much more than the music we sing on Sunday mornings. It is a reflection of how we live, how we love others, and how we respond to God’s grace in our everyday lives. My desire is to help create an atmosphere where people feel welcome, musicians feel encouraged to grow, and Jesus Christ remains at the center of everything we do.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Worship Leader at Glendale Community Church, and I look forward to seeing what God continues to do through this church family.
